Merit-Based Admissions

Admission to all Calypso Pro Dive Academy certification programs is based solely on an applicant’s readiness, medical fitness for diving, and demonstrated commitment to safety standards. We do not grant preferences based onrace, sex, national origin, or any other protected characteristic in violation of applicable law. Course placement,scheduling priority, and instructor assignment are determined by objective, published criteria available to everyapplicant.

Free Inquiry and Respectful Conduct

Calypso Pro Dive Academy supports open discussion of diving techniques, dive science, and industry practices,including good-faith disagreement among students and instructors. At the same time, we maintain firm policiesagainst harassment, intimidation, or conduct that disrupts confined-water sessions, open-water training, classroominstruction, or facility operations. Any disruption that compromises safety briefings or training schedules will result inimmediate corrective action, up to removal from the program.

Intellectual Pluralism in Instruction

Our curriculum draws relies on the standards published by the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) and istaught by instructors with varied professional backgrounds — recreational, public safety, scientific, and military diving.Hiring of instructional staff is based on certification credentials, teaching ability, and safety record, not ideologicalconformity. Students are exposed to differing schools of thought on dive planning, gear configuration, and riskmanagement so they can form independent professional judgment.

Affordability and Transparent Outcomes

Course pricing, required equipment costs, and certification fees are published in full before enrollment, with no hiddencharges. We regularly review our pricing against regional competitors to maintain cost discipline. We track and canreport graduate outcomes — certification pass rates, job placement in the dive industry, and time-to-employment —so prospective students can make informed decisions about the return on their investment, including their ability torepay any course financing.

Academic Rigor and Honest Assessment

Certification standards at Calypso Pro Dive Academy are non-negotiable and tied to internationally recognizedprofessional benchmarks. We do not inflate skill signoffs or written exam scores. Where students use AI tools (e.g.,for dive-planning calculations or study aids), assessments are structured — through in-water skills tests, oralcheckouts, and proctored exams — to verify that the certified diver, not a tool, has mastered the required competencies.
