Share your passion for SCUBA diving by becoming a PADI Divemaster. As a divemaster you’ll supervise SCUBA diving activities and assist with SCUBA classes. PADI Divemaster is the first step in your diving career.
The PADI Divemaster course teaches you to be a leader and take charge of dive activities. Through knowledge development sessions, watermanship exercises and workshops, and hands-on practical assessment, you develop the skills to organize and direct a variety of SCUBA diving activities. Topics and practical workshops include:
• The role and characteristics of the PADI Divemaster
• Supervising dive activities and assisting with student divers
• Diver safety and risk management
• Divemaster conducted programs and specialized skills
• Business of diving and your career
• Awareness of the dive environment
• Dive setup and management
• Mapping an open water site
• Conducting dive briefings
• Organizing a search and recovery project and a deep dive
• Conducting a SCUBA review and skin diver course
• Assisting with Discover SCUBA Diving and leading Discover Local Diving programs
Course Prerequisites
• PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another training organization)
• PADI Rescue Diver (or qualifying certification from another training organization)
• Logged 40 dives to start program and 60 dives to receive certification
• Medically evaluated and cleared for diving by a physician within the past 12 months
• Minimum age of 18
The Go-PRO Divemaster Program is the all-inclusive first step for the diver that has already made a career decision to become a SCUBA diving professional. It takes the candidate with basic or no diver level certification thru the first level of dive professional, the PADI Divemaster. With this certification, a person is qualified to lead certified divers on recreational dives and assist PADI dive instructors with student training. Successful completion of the Go-PRO Divemaster program meets the prerequisite requirements to enter the PADI instructor program.
Course Prerequisites
• Non-Diver or PADI Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another training organization)
• Logged 60 dives to receive certification
• Medically evaluated and cleared for diving by a physician within the past 12 months
• Minimum age of 18
